Our Vision

To create impact on our students foundation to be critical thinkers, compassionate citizens, contributors to a sustainable society and self directed individuals who embrace who they are meant to be and are ready to meet challenges and opportunities.

Our Values

The inspiration of our curriculum is guided by our understanding of human development, according to the insights of Rudolf Steiner. The pace, priorities, and practices of our program, Early Childhood through Primary School, grow out of this foundation.
We believe that our Integral approach which incorporates art, crafts, permaculture, movement and academic studies within a nature- based holistic school will guarantee optimal learning environments and will help our students to develop healthy foundations, skills, resilience and knowledge.
We rely on a teaching process that facilitates the learning of knowledge and skills at each developmental stage, in an experiential way first, gradually allowing the specific content to be integrated into the curriculum at a more cognitive level.
We work on learning from an interdisciplinary perspective, because it emphasises the connections between disciplines or ‘subjects’instead of limiting learning to a content area in a parcelled way. It is via this approach that the most complex knowledge can be appreciated in different contexts.
As a Rural School in Nature, our approach includes a range of experiences and activities and the opportunity to use the natural environment as the basis for teaching key competencies.
Arbol Madre Holistic School strives to be a diverse and actively engaged school community where all experiences and perspectives are welcome. We acknowledge that diversity and inclusion touch every aspect and corner of our community and that growth is an ongoing process that calls for resolute commitment, collaboration, and mutual respect.
Arbol Madre Holistic School School views self-determination in its educational and governance practices as essential to the vitality of its vision and mission thus is an independent school free of government curricular standards or intervention.
We practise a process called “two-way” or “dual language immersion in order to learn Spanish and English in a balanced way to become bilingual and biliterate in both languages by the end of primary education. In this method students are immersed in Spanish and English, each for approximately 50% of the day.
